PTO Appropriations

Each year the PTO raises money for Beecher Road School through its various fund raisers. As you know the money comes back to the school in a variety of ways; special activities, faculty luncheon, sixth grade graduation, etc. After these expenditures, what remains at the end of the year the Appropriations Committee spends on gifts to Beecher based on the requests received. Requests may be made by administration, faculty and parents.

Based on the role of the PTO, we have developed a criteria to evaluate the requests. The PTO looks for items that would not normally be considered in the school budgeting process. We would like to make an impact that enriches and supplements the curriculum and the basic needs of the school. We consider the following: the cost of the gift; its priority in terms of school needs; the number of people impacted by the gift; and our ability to affect a variety of areas in the school.
